Албер Елбаз /ЛАНВИН/

Биография:
    Албер Елбаз е Израелски моден дизайнер. Той е роден през 1961 година в Казабланка, Мароко.
    Завършил е израелския колеж по конструиране и дизайн, 1982-86.
    През 1987 се мести в Ню Йорк, където работи две години за производител на дрехи.
    През 1990 започва работа при Джефри Бийн и остава там 7 години. Елбаз оценява периода в Бийн като неоценимо съществен за него опит, оказал сериозно влияние на израза в стила му.
    През 1997 Албер напуска Бийн и е назначен в Ги Ларош. Но до влизането му във функция предприятието Ларош подема твърде консервативна посока. Дори и така, Елбаз осъвремени колекциите и да засили имиджа на компанията, която към момента управлявала 15 бутика и се предлагала в 70 магазина по света.
    Той напуснал през 1998г и започнал да създава дамските колекции за Ив Сен Лоран. Талантът на Елбаз бил забелязан и оценен. Плановете били Албер да оглави компанията при оттеглянето на Ив Сен Лоран и да поеме поста на Главен Дизайнер.  Тогава Гучи Груп купува лейбъла Рив Гош и слага вместо Албер Елбаз – Том Форд като Главен Дизайнер. Така след 3 колекции за Ив Сен Лоран Том Форд измества Елбаз.
    След това, Албер започва работа за Криция в Италлия, като създава изключително добре приета встъпителна колекция, но за съжаление обстоятелствата отново не били на негова страна.
    През Октомври Елбаз е назначен като Арт Директор на Ланвин – Париж.  Ланвин е най-старата запазена модна къша в целия свят. Основана е от Жан Ланвин, която започнала да прави дрехи през 1909 г. През Август 2001 компанията бе продобита от Инвестиционната Групировка Хармони Ес Ей, оглавявана от Г-жа Шау- Лан Уанг – медиен магнат от Тайван, която всъщност наема Албер. Елбаз преставя нова визия за компанита, прокарва бледия незабравим и специфично синкав цвят, чантите за шопинг с принтове на илюстрациите на Ланвин и дъщеря й Маргюрит от Пол Ириб през 1907г, нови кутий за обувки напомнящи на библиотекарски кутии и други.

Колекции:
Дължащ се отчасти на влиянието на Бийн , удобният за носене и женствен стил на Елбаз става добре приет и уважаван от пресата. Той предлага леко спортен и ежедневен елемент примесен със характерния почерк на Ланвин от 1920г

Награди:
През 2007 г Елбаз е класиран измежду 100 най-влиятелни хора в света по класацията на Списание Таймс.
На 7 Октомври Албер Елбаз получава овациите на публиката за своята колекция Пролет-Лято 2007 за Ланвин.

Bio:
    Alber Elbaz is an Israeli fashion designer. He was born in 1961 in Casablanca, Morocco.
    He studied at the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Israel, 1982-86.
    In 1987, he moved to New York City, worked for two years for a manufacturer of mother-of-the-bride clothing.
    In 1990 he went on to work for Geoffrey Beene for seven years. He claims to have benefited appreciably from his time with Beene, influenced by Beene’s rejection of trends and masterful drape and fit.
    In 1997, Elbaz left Beene and, through retailer Dawn Mello, was hired by the firm of Guy Laroche. But, by the time of Elbaz’s arrival, the Laroche enterprise had become overly conservative and lackluster. Even so, Elbaz was able to update the collection and somewhat enhance the image of the firm, whose activities at the time included the management of 15 boutiques and 70 license agreements worldwide.
    He departed within a year, 1998, and began designing ready-to-wear women’s clothing for Yves Saint-Laurent, because Saint-Laurent himself wished to withdraw from his hands-on design of prête-à-porter. In the position, Elbaz’s talent was recognized, and he would have become the head designer of the house when Saint-Larent retired. This was not to happen because the Gucci Group purchased YSL Rive Gauche, the ready-to-wear label, and, hence, Gucci design director Tom Ford dismissed Elbaz after 3 collections.
    Elbaz then began working for Krizia in Italy and designed a well-received inaugural collection, but the circumstances were not to his liking.
    In October 2001, he was appointed artistic director of Lanvin in Paris. Lanvin is the oldest extant fashion house worldwide, having been founded by Jeanne Lanvin, who began making dresses in 1909 and millinery earlier. In August 2001, the company had been purchased by investor group Harmonie S.A., led by Mrs. Shaw-Lan Wang, a Taiwanese media magnate, who hired Elbaz. 2006, Elbaz introduced new packaging for the fashion house, featuring a light forget-me-not blue color, a favorite shade which Lanvin purportedly had seen in a Fra Angelico fresco. There are shopping bags, imprinted with Paul Iribe’s 1907 illustration of Lanvin and her daughter Marguerite, and new shoe boxes much like antique library files, tied with black ribbons, to emphasize the precious nature of the product.

Collections:
Owing partially to the influence of Beene, Elbaz’s wearable, simple and feminine clothing—similar to the sporty, casual character of Lanvin’s 1920s outfits—has become embraced by the fashion press.

Awards:
In 2007, Elbaz was listed among Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in The World.
On October 7, 2007 Alber Elbaz received a standing ovation for his Spring-Summer 2008 collection for Lanvin.
